1. Definition Of Computer

• Definition Of Computer :

    "A computer is an Electronic Device for performing arithmetic and logical operations, process data, and convert it into information. "

       Logical operations are the type of operations in which decisions are involved.

       Data implies raw facts and figures which are collected over some time whereas when data gets processed for analysis become information or other words we can say that meaningful data is information.

       Basically Computes is made of Hardware and Software.

       Computer= Hardware + Software

       Hardware devices have two Categories :

1. Input Devices
2. Output Devices

         Computer Follows the basic cycle of 

       Input --> Process --> Output

       The computer accepts input from input devices like Keyboard, Mouse, Light pen, etc. Through input devices data is fed into the computer for processing. Processing is done by CPU and results are stored in storage devices like Hard disk, Disk Drives, etc.

       Processing is a process of transforming data from one form to another.

       Results are displayed on the output device like Monitor, Printer, etc.

       This entire process is only possible if the software is installed on Hardware.

       Software is a group of programs that are executed together whereas a program is a set of instructions telling the computer what to do.
